The objective of Aluacero creators is to bring together in one place all the information that may be useful for people who want to use our panel in their projects. Technical sheets, BIM files, .DWG files and other tools are available here.
Ventilation with the Aluacero panel
One of the competitive advantages of the Aluacero panneau is the possibility of easily making large ventilation grills while ensuring security and without the slats getting deformed or losing their alignment.
For example, a well ventilated parking closing can be made, without the need to use forced ventilation.
You may need a more specific air passage, that is, forcing a certain amount of air through a specific hole. Or, the minimum dimensions of the grille you will need to obtain the required ventilation.
To obtain this, we tested the different models of the Aluacero panel in a wind tunnel. Thanks to this, we were able to define the pressure loss coefficient for each model (the test report is available to our customers on demand).
The pressure loss of a grid of a given size interposed in a certain air flow indicates how it opposes to the passage of air. And, in the absence of more specific needs, a pressure loss bigger than 50 Pa is generally considered unacceptable (any case, it is reccomended to follow the manufacturer's specifications and regulations). The pressure loss (∆P) in Pascals is:

Where:
For example, if we have an opening of 0,65x3 m (surface of 2 m2) and an air flow of 5000 m 3/h (1,39 m3/s), the air speed would be:

For perforated panel, for example:

In this example, the pressure loss would be acceptable, following the typical criterion of 50 Pa.
However, it is important to advice that these calculations do not consider the distance between ventilation unit (if any) and the grille. When the equipment is excessively close to the grille, it may happen that the effective surface working area is much smaller than the total oppening surface. In this case, it is important to take into account the manufacturer's indications for the ventilation group, which use to indicate the free space that the equipment requires around it.
To facilitate pressure loss calculations, we provide you with the following calculator. Use it with caution, taking into account the various considerations mentioned in the previous points.
Surface: m2
Air speed: m/s
Pressure loss: Pa
